Our Lady of the Lake University, Main Building Restoration

Restoration of a Historic Landmark

Originally constructed in 1897 and exemplary of the Chateauesque Revival architectural style, this premier historic landmark suffered a devastating fire that engulfed the building and destroyed the roof, fourth floor, and other exterior/interior elements. The historic and architectural character of the building was thoughtfully addressed through a rigorous preservation program to reconstruct the original metal tile roof and restore much of the original interior spatial qualities by replacing water and smoke damaged finishes and assemblies, installing new systems and bringing the building into 21st century code compliance.
