Enhancing the Educational Experience in San Antonio
Northside ISD’s new Louis D. Brandeis High School features a two-story building and totals 438,384 SF. It is designed to accommodate 3,000 students and 250 teachers. The school was designed to provide natural light in every classroom and includes seven courtyards, which can be used as outdoor classrooms.
The Details
Brandeis High School was designed and constructed with extreme sensitivity and attention towards the Edward’s Aquifer Recharge/Transition Zone. The school resides on top of this important natural resource. To mitigate any potential contamination or disturbance to the Recharge/Transition Zone, Bartlett Cocke General Contractors constructed a 148,335 cubic foot water quality pond and a 300,000 SF concrete sub-floor slab with water barrier under the entire building.
