Net-Zero - The Future is Here.
Dearing Elementary School is Pflugerville ISD’s first Net-Zero campus…making as much energy as it uses. This two-story facility features grade levels which are organized into pod communities, each of which feature classrooms surrounding a central flex space that can be used for team teaching or large group activities. The pod communities are then organized around a centralized “discovery zone” which is made up of the library, gymnasium and cafeteria. The open-plan discovery zone serves as the heart of the school and rethinks the traditional common spaces in an interactive, collaborative zone for learning.
