Bartlett Cocke General Contractors had the privilege of hosting students from Bastrop ISD Cedar Creek High School’s Construction Technology I class for a site tour of their high school’s expansion project.

Providing students with real-world exposure to the construction industry is essential in helping them explore career opportunities. “It’s important for students to see in real life so they can make the determination if this is a career for them,” said Danny Pollard, Cedar Creek High School Construction Teacher.

During the tour, students met with our site leadership team, including the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Project Manager, and Assistant Project Manager, to learn about the diverse career paths available in construction.

“Today, they observed the use of drones, 360-degree cameras, and cloud-based software for managing plans. This experience helps them recognize that construction is more than just manual labor—it also involves innovation and advanced technology,” said Luis Medina, Assistant Project Manager at Bartlett Cocke.

Students had the opportunity to walk the site during its early stages and will return later to see the progress firsthand.

“I’m excited for our next walk! We’re passionate about what we do and eager to inspire and shape the minds of tomorrow,” added Medina.

At Bartlett Cocke General Contractors, we are committed to fostering the next generation of construction professionals by providing hands-on learning experiences.
