Compass Rose Journey School - THE RIBBON HAS BEEN CUT!
Bartlett Cocke General Contractors took part in a special ribbon-cutting ceremony today at the new Compass Rose Journey School. Compass Rose is a new charter school located in Windcrest in Bexar County. This is the third campus Bartlett Cocke General Contractors has built for the Owner, Building Hope Development, in addition to the two projects that are currently in progress. Serving K-7th grade students, this school is ranked in the top 5% of charter schools in Texas! Well done!
The project team consisted of:
Project Executive: Matt Bragg
Project Manager: Kirby Coats
Superintendent: Chris Sorensen
Alamo Architects: Jerry Lammers
Compass Rose Journey is a two-story, 39,931 SF educational facility that includes a science room, a reading room/flex space, and Content Master Space. But the pride and joy of the students and staff is the Outdoor Learning Garden which offers a unique extension of the classroom for the students of Compass Rose Journey to spend time outdoors. The Garden offers diverse learning opportunities from raised planting beds for students to grow their own plants to sitting stones, a stage, and a large shade structure for outdoor lessons, and lily-pad flagstones, picnic tables, and challenge logs for unstructured play.
The exterior is modern, with cheerful, colorful stucco and metal panel combinations. The colors “pop” to make a vivid statement in Windcrest, Texas.
