MEP Project Engineer - South Texas

Bartlett Cocke General Contractors is growing rapidly in Data Center Construction and has an excellent growth opportunity for a MEP Project Engineer to join our South Texas Team in San Antonio.  The MEP Project Engineer will manage and coordinate commissioning activities by the owner’s vendors, subcontractors, and 3rd party testing agencies. Specialized knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems is vital to the success of this role.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the scheduling and coordination of Cx activities with OFCI Vendors, subcontractors and project superintendents during commissioning
  • Ensures documentation of the testing results from the commissioning activities
  • Manages and coordinates issue identification and resolution by Cx team
  • Develop, implement, and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents.
  • Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support overall construction schedule.
  • Review mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life safety, and technology systems to verify that they are installed in conformance with one another and with the plans and specifications.
  • Provide technical support for construction effort including participation in construction planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of design conflicts; constructability reviews, shop drawing processing etc.
  • Represent company, project and/or department during A/E, client and project management meetings.
  • Interface all on-site departments as required to resolve problems, ensure quality of construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule.
  • Participates in project reviews to assess the application and effectiveness of company standard operating procedures, sub-contractor processes and procedures and identifies any opportunities for improvement.
  • Implements punch list items for final inspection and acceptance.
  • Engage in problem solving by bringing together technical experts, authorities having jurisdiction, assigning action items, documenting minutes and follow through to closure of project.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalent technical training and work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of building construction experience
  • Capable in coordinating and scheduling Construction activities
  • Construction Project Engineering and building commissioning experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units required.

MEP Quality Control Manager - College Station, TX

Bartlett Cocke General Contractors is in search of a Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Quality Control Manager in the College Station area. This individual will effectively participate in the coordination process and provide quality assurance monitoring and management for the Mechanical/Plumbing, Electrical/Communications, & Fire Protection scopes of work for highly complex construction projects. This person assists with management of all MEP field operations for their assigned project(s).

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the successful execution of the quality control plan to ensure that the required standards of quality construction is being met
  • Define procedures to manage and control the quality control program to ensure that the completed project complies with contract requirements
  • Must be able to read and understand both MEP designs and specifications to effectively work with other personnel to produce coordinated work in compliance with the quality required by the contract documents and applicable codes.
  • Oversee all control activities and testing
  • Help develop and implement QC Checklists in Autodesk Build, as well as other owner required systems or programs.

The Preconstruction Coordinator will support the implementation of the Bartlett Cocke General Contractors Preconstruction process by coordinating to ensure that consistent Preconstruction deliverables are created and distributed.

  • Take an active role in assisting with refining and improving existing templates and procedures.
  • Assist with training on the BC Preconstruction Process to all affected employees.
