BCGC received three AGC Awards for their hard work on The Linden, Georgetown Future Ready Learning Center, and Benold Middle School.
The Austin Chapter of the Associated General Contractors is dedicated to the principles of Skill, Integrity and Responsibility in the construction industry. The Chapter provides services (safety, advocacy, networking, education, building information, and workers comp) to commercial construction firms working in the Austin area and throughout Central Texas. Associated General Contractors judge projects on the difficulty in construction resulting from design, location, materials, etc.; unusual construction techniques involved; final appearance and quality of the finished product; and timeliness of completion.
The Linden Residence:
This unique mixed-use project is sure to spark a conversation. Bartlett Cocke General Contractors was selected by Reger Holdingsto work alongside Rhode Partners to deliver a 28-story residential tower consisting of nine levels of above grade parking. The tower includes 117 luxury condo units and an amenity deck with a pool on level 10.
“The Linden is a 28-story, contemporary tower that introduces a new concept in inspired living where world-class luxury meets Austin’s artful soul.
Borrowing its name from Linden Street, the original name of 17th Street, and the tree of the same name, The Linden is a nod to both Austin’s past and future. Physically rooted near the iconic Capitol Corridor—once untapped as a residential destination—the property’s metaphorical canopy extends to cover the adjacent arts and medical districts with unparalleled access to The University of Texas at Austin, the traditional Central Business District and the world-renowned Blanton Museum of Art.”
Georgetown Future Ready Learning Complex:
The Georgetown Future Ready Learning Complex is a state-of-the-art facility designed to bring together students of all ages in a dynamic, hands-on learning environment. It serves as the hub for advanced career and technical education (CTE) programs, offering specialized training in automotive, welding, robotics, aeronautics, architecture and construction, culinary arts, cosmetology, cybersecurity, gaming, biomedical and health sciences, business, broadcast media, and education, with space dedicated to emerging career paths. The complex is also home to Richarte High School, the district’s academic alternative school, and Bridges 18+, a program supporting students with special needs for up to four years after graduation.
Designed with inspiration from nearby airport hangars and industrial buildings, the Future Ready Learning Complex features an open interior with steel beams, concrete columns, polished concrete floors, and wood ceilings that enhance its modern, innovative aesthetic. At the heart of the building is the commons and dining area, featuring a second-level overlook that creates an arena space for programming and competitions. Classroom areas are highly interactive and flexible, fostering collaboration and hands-on learning.
Benold Middle School:
The new Benold Middle School, a STEM and Humanities-focused campus, opened in 2024 in the Parmer Ranch neighborhood with funding from the 2021 Bond package. Designed for modern, flexible learning, the school is organized into three learning neighborhoods, each featuring classrooms with movable glass walls to maximize adaptability. Multiple collaboration zones, a large learning stair in the cafeteria and commons, outdoor learning spaces, a makerspace, and a video lab provide students with dynamic opportunities for hands-on exploration and innovation. Originally opened in 1996 on Northwest Boulevard, Benold Middle School was named after Dr. Douglas Benold, a respected Georgetown physician and former school board trustee. The previous Benold campus will be repurposed as the new Frost Elementary School, allowing for expanded capacity to support the district’s growing elementary student population.
